The school began on 10th February 2003 with 23 students as a Double Streamed Day Girls’ School with Mrs. Rose Khaemba as the 1st Principal (JANUARY 2003 – APRIL 2018). The boarding section began in the year 2009 with Form Fours as the pioneer boarders. Currently, the school is 3 streamed with 485 girls with Mrs. Wendy Magara as the 2nd Principal(APRIL 2018). The school’s performance in past Kenya National Examination Council examination is as follow;

In 2012, the school began receiving funds from teachers of East Africa Alumni for tuition, science equipment like microscopes and math’s textbooks, LCD projector and 1 desktop computer. As at now, the school has received a total of 6000 USD dollars from 2012 – 2015. This has gone a long way in improving the school’s tuition material.

LOCATION AND ACCESSIBILITY

The school is located within Bungoma Town(Poster Grounds), Bungoma County. The school is well accessible, well managed with learner friendly environment, qualified teachers and support staff making it friendly for pursuit of academic excellence. The following mandates guide day to day school operation;

  • To provide support materials, personnel and quality assurance in the teaching and conduct for effective curriculum implementation and the all-round development of our learners.
  • To teach the Kenya Secondary Schools Education curriculum based on the guidelines stipulated by the MOEST, to empower our students with knowledge skills and values so that they can care for themselves and influence others positively.
  • To provide guiding and counseling services to our students for right choice of careers, moral rectitude and patriotism.
  • To promote a home away from home conducive environment to spur quality education. The school celebrates a number of achievements including;
  • Constructed a school dining hall with terrazzo floor
  • Improved enrolment
  • Constructed a twin laboratory by NG-CDF and PTA
  • School Bus
  • Constructed 3 units of staff quarters
  • Fenced, gated with tuition classes and departmental offices.

SCHOOL STRUCTURE AND MANAGEMENT

The school is run by the Board of Management (BOM) whose chairperson is Hon. John Makali. The school is headed by the Principal Mrs. Wendy Magara Supported by the Deputy Principal Mrs. Nyaranga Phelistus. The Director of studies is Mr. Otieno Ohasa assisted by Madam Wotia Ann. The school internal system and departmental unit’s right from the Director of Studies to subject heads enhance academic excellence and smooth governance of the school.

The school has got 20 TSC Teachers, 8 Teachers on Board and 17 support staff.
